Frequently Asked Questions

Some Answers To Some Commonly Asked Questions

Q

Why is Dr. Goodmurphy so good looking?

A

It’s just in the name baby–it is just in the name!

Q

Why can I see the front page of the site but the video’s never play

A

This may be a problem caused by your browser or your internet connection. Try a different browser or update your browser (I have had the best success with FireFox) if your internet service is slow you may also have trouble streaming the videos.

Q

My friend told me about the site but I can’t get to it on our campus.

A

The site is free to everyone who can type in the web address. However, some schools don’t allow streaming from places like Vimeo and You Tube to protect their bandwidth. However, some schools will make exceptions to specific web sites. Ask your library or IT department if they will make an exception to an educational site like Anatomy Guy. There are also certain Countries (like China) that will limit access to outside sites.

Q

I am in North Korea and can’t watch the Anatomy Guy videos – Please Help!

A

Do you want help viewing or do you want help because you are stuck in North Korea?  I will assume the first one. There are also certain Countries that will limit access to outside web sites. This is a problem above my pay grade. If you know of a way to allow greater access through applying to central governments then please let me know and we will make an application.

Q

Why can’t I watch the videos in more languages?

A

We would love to provide transcripts in various languages or even voice over’s but we would need some volunteer help.

Q

I am a medical professional and I love your site and would like to get involved. How can I do that?

A

That is great we would love to have partners to help us with surgical video, story boards or even anatomic variations. If you have some footage, imaging datasets, unique case photos or even some anatomical drawings that are yours and you are willing to share. We would love to help edit it into a helpful video and post it. Of course you get credit lines, you keep copyright but have to be willing to share a non-exclusive copyright with us so we can use it too. Just contact me and we will talk.

Q

How do you afford talent like Skully?

A

We pay him in calcium supplements

Q

A

Can I download the videos?
No, we have decided to keep things as free as possible so in order to keep growth and support for the project we are using the web as our delivery system. We want to let people watch as much as they want but we don’t want to let people download them at this time. We would ask that you respect our hard work and financial investment and honor our copyright as well.
